The crowd went wild as the cheers continued throughout the ballroom, and it was that moment Kim reached a milestone he had set to accomplish seven years ago.  In June 2017, Kim placed high enough in his competition to qualify for the next level.  Reaching the WSDC All-Stars division was a celebration of all the hard work Kim put into his swing dancing.

It was in high school where Kim discovered swing dancing, learning East Coast Swing and dancing Lindy Hop through college.  A fun activity to do on a Saturday night with friends, swing dancing didn't become truly a passion until his last year of college when Kim was introduced to West Coast Swing.  Kim fell in love not only with the mix of musical genres, but also with how he could use the same swing moves he learned before to dance West Coast Swing.

Kim became active in the Swing community in 2007 running and managing Utah's West Coast Swing, a Friday night dance held at the Murray Arts Centre.  Kim started teaching group lessons, DJ'ing dances regularly, and working on his craft.  By 2010, Kim began competing at West Coast Swing events around the country, moving through the ranks with multiple placements and awards.  He also started another weekly dance event called 3T's West Coast Swing, where as event director won the 2020 Best Of State award in the Ballroom Dance category.

Kim continues to share and energize the dance floor with his fun attitude, brilliant musicality, and smooth connection.  He can be found teaching group classes, private lessons, and DJ'ing swing dances with the goal to inspire others to enjoy swing dancing and its many diverse styles.

• Although a common name in another culture, Kim is Chinese. The name is derived from the sound of his Cantonese name.
